China Abrasive Materials Weekly Price (30 AUG-5 SEP): Aluminum oxide price continue to surge
According to Antaike's research, as of September 3, China's alumina spot index was RMB 3,010 /ton, and the national average alumina price was RMB 3,172/ton.
Recently, both domestic and imported alumina prices have risen rapidly. During the past half a month, the price of domestic alumina in the north China has increased by about RMB 300 /ton, while the increase in the southern region can reach RMB 400/ton. The aluminum price difference has narrowed to about RMB 150/ton. The current alumina price in the northern region is basically concentrated at RMB 3150/ton, and the alumina price in the southern region is about RMB 3,000/ton.
This week, due to the sharp rise in the price of raw material alumina, white corundum manufacturers have subsequently raised the product price. It is expected that in the coming week, considering that alumina prices may still be in an upward channel, the price of white fused alumina will also rise further.
This week, China's brown fused alumina prices continue to be at a high level. The current brown fused alumina market is obviously insufficient in production capacity, and manufacturers have basically zero inventory. Some companies currently only accept prepaid orders. It is expected that this situation will not be alleviated in September, and purchasing companies need to prepare in advance. It is expected that in the coming week, in view of the increase in raw material prices, most of the brown fused alumina manufacturers may further increase their product prices.
This week, due to high production costs and stable downstream demand, most black silicon carbide manufacturers maintained their product prices unchanged. Given that the price of anthracite has been at a high level since the end of August, it is expected that the price of black silicon carbide may remain firm in the coming week.
This week, due to the increase in production costs, some green silicon carbide manufacturers raised their product quotations by about RMB 100/ton. It is expected that in the coming week, as the price of raw material petroleum coke is still rising, the price of green silicon carbide may remain firm.
