China Abrasive Materials Weekly Price (4th-10th March):Brown Fused Alumina Price Hike

This week, with the improvement of air quality in Henan and Shandong, the operating rate of white fused alumina production enterprises rebounded slightly. However, due to the “Two Sessions”, the overall operating rate is still low, and the supply of market products is in short supply. It is expected that in the coming week, with the official closing of the national "Two Sessions", the production capacity of white fused alumina in many places in China will gradually recover, but the market price will continue to run at a high level in the short term.
Due to the impact of production costs and environmental supervision pressure, domestic brown fused alumina prices continue to be firm this week. Although some downstream companies have protested against the current high price of brown fused alumina, producers are still sticking to prices and are unwilling to compromise on price reduction. It is expected that the price of brown fused alumina will remain stable at a high level in the coming week. Although it is difficult to fall, it lacks the momentum to continue to rise.
At present, the bauxite calcination kilns for grinding grade brown fused alumina in Henan area have been shut down in large quantities, resulting in difficulty in purchasing brown fused alumina raw materials and the price has risen by 50~100 yuan/ton from the beginning of the year. In addition, the Guizhou region has recently entered the rainy season, and the frequent rains have affected the mining of bauxite. Therefore, the supply of bauxite has been greatly reduced in the short term, and local smelting enterprises in Guizhou have also been forced to cut production. In summary, due to factors such as the shortage of raw materials and bauxite supply, the price of brown fused alumina will remain high.
3. Black Silicon Carbide
This week, the domestic black silicon carbide market turnover slightly recovered, and the price rose slightly. Affected by the large-scale shutdown of black silicon carbide smelting enterprises in Gansu, the price of domestic black silicon carbide products has risen sharply in the past two weeks. However, the downstream enterprises have collectively resisted, and the market transactions have been deserted, but industry analysts believe that although the price of black silicon carbide will stabilize at the current level in a short period of time, with the consumption of enterprise stocks, the price of black silicon carbide products in April may still rise again.
4. Green Silicon Carbide
This week, China's green silicon carbide prices have stabilized. After the product price rose sharply last week, the domestic green silicon carbide rising power has been fully released. While the current environmental protection situation in North China is still grim, the industry downstream market demand has not fully recovered, which has become the biggest resistance to rise in green silicon carbide prices. It is expected that the price of green silicon carbide will run smoothly in the coming week.
