China Abrasive Materials Weekly Price (11-17 OCT): Plants are ordered to halt for four day a week
This week, the price of alumina in China continued to maintain a substantial increase and the market supply has decreased. Affected by this, the price of white corundum has also continued to rise. It is expected that the price of white corundum may rise further in the coming week, supported by factors such as rising raw material prices and power cuts.
Due to the tight power supply and other factors, most brown fused alumina manufacturers in Henan and Guizhou Province have restricted or halted production this week. This has led to an increasingly shortage of spot supply in the market, and some companies have even stopped quoting. In addition, due to factors such as rising raw material prices and rising freight costs, most brown fused alumina manufacturers intend to further increase the product quotations. It is expected that the price of brown fused alumina may continue to rise in the coming week.
Black silicon carbide manufacturers in Ningxia region of China stopped production on a large scale this week, and black silicon carbide manufacturers in Gansu also started to further reduce production in the near future. According to industry sources, the date of resumption of production is uncertain, so some companies can only suspend quoting. It is expected that in the coming week, considering the sharp tightening of market supply, the price of black silicon carbide may continue to rise.
This week, supported by rising production costs and demand recovery, most green silicon carbide manufacturers raised their product prices by about RMB 1,000/ton. It is expected that in the coming week, due to the increase in the price of green silicon carbide raw blocks, the price of green silicon carbide granular sand and micropowder in China may rise further.
