China Abrasive Materials Weekly Price (19-26 JUL): factories in Henan have been impacted by floods

1. White Fused Alumina

This week, due to heavy rains, many local enterprises in Henan Province stopped production. Due to the reduction in supply, some white corundum manufacturers plan to gradually increase the product price by about RMB 50/ton, starting next week. In addition, due to damage to some roads caused by the floods, which has a greater impact on transportation and delivery, some companies have issued notices of delays. It is expected that in the coming week, considering the reduction in supply and no inventory pressure, the price of white fused alumina may rise at the end of the month.

2. Brown Fused Alumina

This week, many brown fused alumina manufacturers in Henan have stopped production due to heavy rains. Some companies plan to increase the products price by about RMB 50/ton. In addition, it is reported that government in Yichuan area may adopt stricter production restrictions on abrasives-related companies, in order to save energy and reduce emissions. It is expected that in the coming week, due to the decrease in supply, the price of brown fused alumina may continue to rise.

3. Black Silicon Carbide

Supported by the high price of raw material anthracite, black silicon carbide manufacturers plan to keep product prices firm in this week. Faced with high-cost pressures, some companies said they would rather stop production than sell at a lower price. It is expected that in the coming week, the price of black silicon carbide may remain firm.

4. Green Silicon Carbide

Due to the recent restrictions on production by steel mills in northern regions, the downstream market demand for green silicon carbide has been weak during this week. In the face of increasing production costs but weak downstream demand, most green silicon carbide manufacturers intend to temporarily stabilize prices to maintain stable sales. It is expected that in the coming week, the price of green silicon carbide may continue to remain strong.
