China Abrasive Materials Weekly Price (22-28 NOV): Possible production cuts caused mixed outlook
According to Antaike's research, as of November 26, China's alumina spot index was RMB 3477 /ton, the national average alumina price was RMB 3927/ton, and the alumina price took a dive.
In the meantime, as the sluggish demand in the downstream market for white corundum, most of the white fused alumina manufacturers have recently lowered their product prices to promote sales. However, it is worth mentioning that according to local enterprises in Sanmenxia, Henan, the profits of white fused alumina under the current high electricity prices are minimal. Therefore, the enthusiasm of enterprises to start operation is not high, and most enterprises are in a wait-and-see situation. It is expected that in the coming week, white fused alumina prices may continue to run weakly.
This week, despite the high production costs, considering the weak market demand, some brown fused alumina manufacturers slightly lowered their product prices in order to promote sales.
In addition, Zhengzhou City has implemented production control on the bauxite kiln and brown corundum industries on November 28, and more than a hundred industry-related companies have been affected to varying degrees. It is expected that in the coming week, in view of the severe current situation, companies are unwilling to lower prices even more, and intend to maintain price stability and wait and see the follow-up trend of the market.
It is reported that due to the recent increase in electricity prices in Gansu and Ningxia this week, local black silicon carbide production costs have risen sharply. Although the price of anthracite has been lowered under policy control, the overall production cost of black silicon carbide is still uptrend. In addition, the Tianzhu area of Gansu has recently reported that some companies will continue to suspend production. It is expected that in the coming week, under the dual support of high costs and production suspension news, the price of black silicon carbide will remain stable.
This week, when the prices of other abrasive materials were lowered, the price of green silicon carbide is still rising. Supported by rising production costs, most local green silicon carbide manufacturers raised their product quotations and expressed the possibility of continued upward adjustments. It is expected that in the coming week, the price of green silicon carbide may continue to rise.
5. All brown fused alumina smelting enterprises in Dengfeng, Henan ceased production
According to industry sources, under the regulations of the "Notice on Implementation of Production Regulations in the Bauxite Kiln and Brown Corundum Industry" issued on November 28, all the brown fused alumina smelting enterprises in Dengfeng city of Henan Province have stopped production.
