China Abrasive Materials Weekly Price (4-10 OCT): The upward trend of prices remains unchanged

According to Antaike's research, as of October 8, China's alumina spot index was RMB 3909 /ton, the national average alumina price was RMB 3735/ton, and alumina prices continued to rise.
During the National Day, due to power curb and other related issues, the white corundum production hub such as Henan and Shandong all experienced restrictions and suspension of production. This caused a tight supply of white corundum, and some companies could not execute the orders received in the early stage. The market is out of stock, and the price of white fused alumina continues to maintain an upward trend. Some companies said that it was difficult to fix the price as raw material is continuously increasing, but the price increase trend is inevitable. It is expected that in the coming week, white fused alumina prices may maintain an upward trend.
During the National Day holiday, Shanxi, which is one of the main producing areas of bauxite in China, suffered from continuous heavy rainfall, and geological disasters such as collapses and landslides occurred successively in many places, causing serious waterlogging in the city. The shipment and transportation of bauxite in Xiaoyi, Jiexiu, Qixian, and Pingyao in Shanxi have encountered greater resistance. At the same time, raw ore mining, cooked bauxite storage and processing are temporarily suspended. It is expected that in the coming week, under the dual pressure of high cost of fuel and raw ore, the voice of rising in bauxite will become stronger.
In the meantime, due to the price increase of natural gas, the cost of calcined bauxite has increased. While the prices of electrodes, coal, iron filings, phosphoric acid and other raw and auxiliary materials used in the smelting of brown corundum have also risen to varying degrees. In addition, the voltage limit load has resulted in the increase of unit power consumption on smelting, and the above factors have caused the production cost of brown fused alumina to continue to rise. It is expected that in the coming week, the shortage of brown fused alumina may continue, and the price of brown fused alumina may rise again.
Since the price of black silicon carbide has skyrocketed at the end of September, the current black silicon carbide manufacturers are more cautious in taking orders. The market has a certain degree of price confusion, but downstream purchasing companies are actively stocking goods. According to some silicon carbide manufacturers, the current company inventory consumption rate is still accelerating. It is expected that in the coming week, the price of black silicon carbide may still rise.
During the National Day holiday, considering the increase in raw material and production costs and no inventory pressure, some green silicon carbide manufacturers plan to continue to increase prices. It is expected that in the coming week, the price of green silicon carbide may maintain an upward trend.
